DESKO PENTA Scanner 4X

The DESKO PENTA Scanner 4X is a versatile full-page scanner specifically designed for the reliable capture, verification, and authentication of ID card data.

Since different industries such as airports, airlines, border authorities, banks, insurance companies, and self-service applications have their own specific requirements for the integration and handling of ID scanners, the PENTA Scanner 4X was designed to integrate flexibly into virtually any environment. Its robust, compact housing is suitable for both desktop use and permanent installation in gates, kiosks, or counter systems. Despite its powerful technology, the scanner remains extremely space-saving and blends seamlessly into existing system landscapes.

Equipped with high-quality scanning technology, the PENTA Scanner 4X produces images with a resolution of up to 900 dpi, exceeding even the requirements of many security agencies. A modern image sensor ensures significantly improved image quality, greater detail sharpness, and more precise capture of even complex documents. The USB 3.0 interface enables fast data transfer, significantly accelerating workflows. Furthermore, the scanner is powered entirely via USB, allowing for flexible installation and eliminating the need for an additional power source.

For secure document verification, three light sources – visible light, IR, and UV-A – are available, reliably revealing security features. The proven DESKO OCR technology precisely reads both MRZ zones and visible data fields (VIZ). An RFID module for reading electronic identification documents is also integrated as standard. Optional features include a document clip for simplified document placement, a barcode scanner for 1D and 2D codes, and an advanced verification module with coaxial and grazing light that reveals additional security features such as embossing, holograms, or UV structures. Depending on the application, the scanner can also be expanded with additional modules such as a chip card reader or special readers for national ID documents.

The entire design is built for durability and intensive use; the scanning surface is protected by robust Gorilla Glass and can withstand continuous heavy use. In versions intended for installation, the scanner is also protected against dust and splashes of water, making it ideal for publicly accessible terminal and gate systems.
