The Thales SafeNet IDPrime (formerly Gemalto IDPrime) smart card is the successor to the successful IDPrime.NET smart card series. This successor model offers many new advantages over its predecessor, such as mini-driver support, dual-interface capability, FIPS and CC certification, and elliptic curve cryptography.
IDPrime smart cards are mini-driver-supporting, PKI or FIDO-certified chip cards that ensure high data security regarding the identity of their users during logical access to a network. Benefit from the ease of use of smart cards: Long, complicated passwords and cumbersome hardware devices are a thing of the past when accessing your computer environment with the IDPrime smart card. The comprehensive portfolio of the smart card family serves countless application requirements thanks to a wide range of features, different contactless technologies and certification types, as well as storage sizes.
Combine smart cards with RFID technology to implement existing solutions, such as access control. SafeNet IDPrime smart cards also provide visual identity verification and can be used for secure printing processes.
Leverage the card management capabilities integrated into IDPrime with Microsoft servers and Windows operating systems. The use of SafeNet IDPrime smart cards in such environments requires no additional middleware installation for card management: The IDPrime certificate-based authentication solution operates via plug-and-play, thanks to full support by FIM (Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager) and can be used with the Microsoft Card Management System.
Since IDPrime cards are also fully integrated into IDGo 800 middleware and are increasingly being integrated into the SafeNet Authentication Client middleware, compatibility with MAC OS and Linux is also guaranteed.
SafeNet IDPrimesmart cards can be certified according to US (FIPS 140-2 Level 2) or European regulations (CC EAL5+ / PP SSCD). They can also be manufactured as dual-interface cards and are NFC compatible.
